Nissequogue River State Park Foundation
Update from the Nissequogue River State Park Foundation The Nissequogue River State Park Foundation sent a letter to State Assemblyman Englebright and similar letters to Governor Paterson, State Assemblyman Fitzpatrick and major environmental groups asking them to support bill A11314, which would statutorily designate the 365 acre former Kings Park Psychiatric Center Property as the Nissequogue River State Park. Kings Park Civic Association recieves community input on Kings Park Day Kings Park Civic Association representatives were out in full force to greet the Kings Park community and to share ideas. Many residents were interested in the many projects we are working on to enhance our quality of life. The KPCA handed out free pens, pencils and bubbles for the kids. All our government representatives who attended Kings Park Day made it a point to stop by and discuss many topics with both the KPCA representatives and the residents visiting our display. Thanks to all those who volunteered to work our booth!
Kings Park Civic Association representatives discuss Kings Park issues with community residents. Alexis won our Tootsie Roll raffle on Kings Park Day. Alexis had the closest guess at 300 Tootsie Rolls. The jar contained 306. Her parents are Kings Park Civic Association members.
KPCA 1st Vice President Sean Lehmann presents Alexis with a full jug of Tootsie Rolls. Her sisters Ashley and Amber can't wait to help Alexis eat them!

The theme for this year's Memorial Day in Kings Park was "Freedom
Isn't Free". Many Americans have fought and died to insure that we
have the freedoms which we all enjoy today. Nissequogue River State Park Foundation The Nissequogue River State Park Foundation is already hard at work achieving its goals to enhance, protect and beautify the park. The foundation needs your support.
The Nissequogue River Park Foundation is a not-for-profit community based organization committed to working diligently with our town, county, state and federal government representatives to create a compelling and inspiring design for both a passive and active park.
The foundation focuses its efforts on
evaluating and recommending strategies that properly utilize the parks
assets for cultural, historical and recreational purposes.
Web: www.OurStatePark.com Kings Park Civic Association Membership**The Kings Park Civic Association is the
only civic group representing the entire Kings Park hamlet that holds
monthly meetings, polls the community and has the membership vote on the
issues at hand.**
We
firmly believe that a civic group cannot advocate for the residents of
the Kings Park Community unless those residents have a voice in what we
advocate for.
